Projects

Since 1963, J. Hilbert Anderson, Inc has tackled a diverse range of projects, with most relating to refrigeration systems and heat exchanger design.

World’s 1st closed-cycle geothermal plant design

Due to the recognition thermal-power cycle expertise, especially in cases with a small temperature differential, JHA Inc. was requested by Magma Power Company to design a plant to harness the geothermal resources previously bypassed for higher temperature wells. The plant was designed by JHA, Inc., built in East Mesa, California, and operated successfully until the local geothermal resource was depleted. To date, no closed-cycle geothermal plant has boasted a cycle efficiency as high as JHA’s plant due to the dual cycle, multistage turbines, and unique heat exchanger design.
